Licensing
Big game license options have changed in Montana for the 2011 Season. Due to a ballot initiative passed in
November 2010, Montana no longer offers the "outfitter sponsored(guaranteed) license".
You now have two options for the general draw for deer and elk.
1. Big Game Elk/Deer Combination — General. Cost is $912. We expect a 100% draw rate on this license for non-resident hunters.
2. Deer Combination— General. Cost is $542. We expect an approximately 50% draw rate on this license for non-resident hunters.
Clients who successfully draw the Big Game Elk/Deer Combination can then apply for a two special elk permit draws.
1. Missouri Breaks tag. For clients that draw this tag, we will work out a price ($2000-$5000) depending on the number
of days you desire to hunt. You can expect 300-340 class bulls on this hunt.
2. Bear Paw Mountains tag. For clients that draw this tag the hunt cost will be $7500 (this is one of the best units
in North America for elk, you can expect 350-400+ bulls).
3. We will also have a self guided elk hunt for our clients that wish to hunt elk upon completion of their deer hunt.
